Cause and effect!
the cause and effect website was very helpful. i find that the book that we use is very confusing. i know that in a earlier post i said i loved the book but a girl can change her mind right? this website really laid out exactly what it was that was used in cause and effect, how to spot them and how to used them correctly. the exercises very very easy to fallow and actually do, unlike the ones in the book. I know it seems like i am coming down hard on the book but as we go though it more the i like it lees. it just seems to ramble on. ok i know this post is about the website, witch does not ramble! the web site is a very useful tool for many different ages. it can be used for jr. higher s all the why though adult, with out making the adults fee like they are learning jr. high stuff. so i say good job website!!!

Hi, Violet!
ReplyDeletePlease check out my blog on this same subject. I agree with you that the website was a lot easier to go through than some chapters of the book. The first page of the website, however, I thought was WORDY and CLUTTERED! So, I didn't like that. But the exercises were great-no exaggeration there! The exercises take you step-by-step through each concept, giving you immediate feedback as to whether you are doing well or not.
Also, I like the way you can go back to the question and try again, if you didn’t get it right in the first place.
I like this post. I have to agree with you that the book does ramble on and on and it gets frustrating! It's like "get to the point already". I agree with you that the website was very useful when explaining concepts. It made things a lot easier to understand than the book. I find that the cause and effect concept to be very useful also. It really helped me differentiate that if I say something in an argument, it could really effect the outcome. So from now on, I will definitely think about what we read from the website to make my argument stronger.
ReplyDeleteyep, I have to agree with you that the website was indeed much easier to understand than the textbook we are currently using for the class. Moreover, the reading was very short and precise and explained in vivid detail. The exercises were also very simple to do once you have read each section. To be honest, I thought the textbook reading was very long and can be very confusing at times. Therefore, I prefer the website over the book as it makes everything seem much easier.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really good point you made. I actually, personally, like the textbook better, but I will say that as we have gotten deeper into the harder chapters... I find myself scratching my head more and going, huh? It seems to be less clear than it was before with a lot less examples. So I guess for the beginning chapters, I would note that I like the book best, but for the later chapters, it would have probably been nicer if it had gone into as much detail as the website does. The website is just a little easier to follow about some things.
