Appeal to Emotion- FEAR!!!!!!

The Appeal to Emotion that I wanted to talk about is the Appeal to Fear! Fear is such a major thing that motivates people to do things or not do things. This appeal strikes because a Appeal to Fear can get you to do almost anything. For instance when I was a little kid I would always make funny faces to my mom when she was talking to someone. And she finally started telling me to be careful because your face might stick like that! Now this scared me because I did not want my face to look like that permintily just long enough to make my mom annoyed (I know I was a nice little girl). So I stopped doing it! I like appeal to fear because it can shoe you a lot about the person giving the appeal and a lot about the audience that is receiving It.!

  1. Your example for appeal to emotion- fear is so cute but yet funny! When I was little, my dad told me to never lie or else my nose will grow super long like pinocchio! Since I was so young and naive, I've been raised to never tell a like *but of course white lies are okay!* I agree with you that "appeals to fear" causes people to do things or not do things based on their emotions toward it. I think appeal to fear is important in our lives because if it wasn't for it, many people will do crazy things knowing they're not scared of it!

  2. Yes. I agree. How about the commercials on TV? Especially the prescription medicines, they totally appeal to our fear factor. You need to take these medications so you don't get this disease! I hate that!! They just assume that we ARE going to get that disease. What I really hate is that they show them in between any type of TV show, for example, even the kid shows!! What's up with that? Are they trying to scare them early so they can grow up and remember that drug and take it when they are an adult? Yes! Do not underestimate the appeals to fear! :o)
